Shopping for a boy who loves big machines, robots or building things? This guide groups our favorite Christmas gifts by what kids love and by budget, so you can find the right present fast. For Christmas delivery, we recommend ordering by December 15. Shipping is free on US orders over $50.
For little builders who love construction
If he stops to watch every digger on the street, start here. Kids can sit in and drive the Freddo 12V Excavator Ride-On or the CAT 12V Electric Ride-On Loader. For remote control fans, the Huina 1573 RC Dump Truck and Huina 1571 RC Grab Loader are detailed 1:14 scale models. Smaller budget? The 2.4G RC Stunt Excavator is a fun first RC digger, and the Little Engineer's Toolbox Workbench is great for pretend building.
For toddlers: first ride-ons
Foot-to-floor ride-ons are pushed with little feet, so they are a simple, safe first car. Try the Caterpillar Foot-to-Floor Ride-On or the Jeep Rubicon Foot-to-Floor Ride-On. Push cars like the Ford Raptor 3-in-1 grow with your toddler, and the CAT 6V Toddler Dump Truck is a gentle first electric ride-on. Always check the age guidance on each product page.
The big wow gifts
For a Christmas morning they will remember, our licensed electric ride-ons are the showstoppers: the Porsche Macan Turbo EV 24V, the Mercedes-Maybach G650 and the Freddo Ranger 12V 4x4. Many of these include a parent remote so you can help steer.
For remote control fans
The RC Fire Truck That Sprays Water is a favorite, and the RC Wall Climbing Car really drives up walls. Off-road fans will like the Exost Phantom Force RC Truck and the Land Rover Camel Trophy 1:10 RC.
Robots and science
For curious kids, the Train My Dino II robotic dinosaur and the Silverlit Robo Rapidfire bring robots to life. Learning gifts that still feel like play include the 2-in-1 Telescope and Microscope Set, the Human Body Anatomy Kit and the 12-in-1 Solar Robot Kit.
For brick builders and space fans
Brick kits keep kids busy for hours. Space fans will love the Space Rocket Base Kit (733 pcs), the Saturn Rocket Kit and the Mars Rover Kit. For a big project, try the Tower Crane Brick Kit (1461 pcs) or the Aircraft Carrier Brick Kit (1728 pcs).
